One approach is to develop a technology to produce high IV recycled PET. Newapplications for high IV recycled PET, especially with over 1.0 IV, is expected to expand the market. Another is so called "Bottle to Bottle" recycling technology. It is an ideal to realize a recycling path to beverage bottles. One is to reduce chemical contaminants to sufficiently low levels to assure safety in food contact use. Next one is to increase or recover IV to same as the virgin bottle grade PET to insure moldability, mechanical properties, and bottle clarity. To solve these problems, Oude Technology has developed the decontamination technology named "Super Washing" and Hosokawa developed IV increasing "Flake IV-Increasing" technology. The distinctive feature of this process is to be able to realize "Bottle to Bottle" recycling by minimum modification, addition of "Flake IV-Increasing", in some case addition of extrusion also, on a current recycling plant. It is important point from economical aspect, that is maximum benefit from minimum investment. To summarize the benefits of the "Super Washing", it increases the value of the material and it makes real a low cost and effective recycling process. So, we believe it will contribute to expand the recycling market....
